Week 03 Rankings Released
Tight Race in Thumb Sportswriters Association’s First Rankings of Year

With the conclusion of the third week of the regular season, every member of the Thumb Sportswriters Association (TSA) went back to their bat cave to determine which team rises above the rest. From now through the end of the regular season (October 24), the TSA will release its rankings based on the previous week of football.
In the first iteration, Harbor Beach and Millington are splitting the vote with just one point separating the two undefeated squads. Lakers, the other remaining undefeated squad in 11-player football, is tied for third with North Branch. USA and Reese have won two games in a row after dropping their season openers and are slotted at six and seven, respectively. Ubly rounds out the Top Seven after holding their own against a dominant Harbor Beach team.
In 8-player football, it’s a similar story with two juggernauts, Deckerville and Brown City at the top. The Eagles and Green Devils are set to meet this Friday in Deckerville, which is also the Game of the Week on the WLEW Sports Network, as well as Deckerville’s Homecoming.
